Privacy Policy

Fajr Academy (“we”, “us”) provides live one-to-one online Qur'an, Tajweed, Hifz, Arabic and Islamic Studies classes. We are based in Dhaka, Bangladesh (Trade License: 027681) and teach students around the world.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through fajracademy.io, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the free-trial booking form on it.

Information you give us

When you book a free trial class, you provide:

• the student's name, gender and age;
• your preferred trial date and time;
• your teacher preferences (teaching language and teacher gender);
• your WhatsApp number and country code;
• optionally, the course you are interested in and a note for our team.

If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we receive the information you choose to share in that conversation.

Information collected automatically

• Time zone — your device's time zone is read by the booking form so we can show class times in your local time and schedule your trial correctly.
• Usage and device data — such as pages visited, buttons clicked, approximate location (country or city), browser and device type. This is collected through the analytics tools described in Cookies and analytics.
• Technical data — your IP address is processed briefly when you submit the booking form, to protect it from spam and abuse. It is not saved with your booking.

We use your information to:

• arrange your free trial class and match you with a suitable teacher;
• contact you on WhatsApp to confirm your trial and share the class link;
• answer your questions and follow up about enrolment;
• understand how our website is used so we can improve it;
• measure the effectiveness of our advertising;
• keep our website and booking form secure and prevent misuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we only send you messages related to your enquiry or classes.

Many of our students are children. When a booking is for a child, we expect it to be made by a parent or guardian, and the contact number provided should belong to that parent or guardian.

We collect only what we need to arrange classes — a child's first and last name, gender and age — and we communicate about the child's classes with the parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use the following third-party tools, loaded through Google Tag Manager:

• Google Analytics — to understand visits and how people use the site. Google may use cookies for this. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel — to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising. See Meta's Privacy Policy.

These tools may record when you view a page, start the booking form, or complete a booking. We send them general details about a booking — such as the course, the teacher preferences and the student's age group — but never the student's name or your WhatsApp number.

Our website also uses your browser's temporary session storage to avoid counting the same booking twice. It is cleared when you close the browser tab.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. You can manage ad preferences in your Facebook ad settings. Blocking these tools will not stop the website or booking form from working.

We share information only with people and services that help us run the academy:

• Our teachers and staff — so they can arrange and teach your classes.
• Service providers — our website hosting and database providers, which store information on our behalf.
• WhatsApp — when you message us or we confirm your class there, WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy also apply.
• YouTube — videos on our site are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may set cookies when you play a video.
• SSLCOMMERZ — if you pay for classes online, your payment is processed by SSLCOMMERZ. We do not receive or store your full card details.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our students and staff.

We keep booking and contact information for as long as we need it to arrange classes, follow up on your enquiry and manage your enrolment, and for any period required for legal or accounting purposes. If you do not enrol and ask us to delete your details, we will do so.

Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, booking data is stored in a secured database, and access is limited to staff who need it to arrange your classes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

You can ask us at any time to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you or your child;
• correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your information;
• stop contacting you.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity — for example, by replying from the WhatsApp number used for the booking.

We are based in Bangladesh and teach students worldwide. Information you provide may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including by our service providers. By using our website and booking a class, you understand that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
